April 18th from 9 – 11 AM

There are three events to choose from in Windsor Park this year for Keep Austin Beautiful Day.

Austin Creative Reuse’s – Windsor Park Neighborhood Cleanup

Join Bartholomew Brush Busters sponsored by Capital Area Chapter of Texas American Water Works Association (CAC TAWWA) on April 18th for Keep Austin Beautiful Day. The Brush Busters have been a long standing supporters of Tannehill Branch. For years they have adopted the creek as part of Keep Austin Beautiful’s Adopt-a-Creek program, and for that we are sincerely appreciative. Most of the folks that come out month after month don’t even live in Windsor Park. So let’s show them some love and appreciation by joining forces.

Where? Bartholomew Pool Parking lot at 1800 E 51st Street, Austin, Texas 78723

What? We will be gathering trash from the Tannehill Branch Creek, which runs through Bartholomew Park.

Why? There is a never-ending buildup of trash in Tannehill Branch Creek.

What to bring? Water, sunscreen and sun protection, long pants (to avoid poison ivy), close-toed shoes.

Where to park? Parking is available at the Bartholomew Park Pool Parking Lot.

Can’t make it? That’s okay! There will be other opportunities to volunteer in the future as TAWWA does these cleanups 6 – 8 times a year. If you have friends, family, or community members that you think would be interested, please feel free to forward this email!

Join Austin Creative Reuse on April 18th for Keep Austin Beautiful Day. On at least two occasions in the past, ACR has partnered with Keep Austin Beautiful and Windsor Park Neighbors to collect trash from parks, creeks, and neighborhood streets here in the heart of Windsor Park. On MLK day alone, we collected over 450 pounds of litter, which is the equivalent of 50 trash bags, with 10 bags being recycled and 40 bags going to the landfill.

Where? 2005 Wheless Ln, Austin, TX 78723

What? We will be gathering trash from streets around the heart of the neighborhood, and from Fort Branch Creek, which runs behind ACR.

Why? There is a constant buildup of trash along the major road around the neighborhood.

What to bring? Water, sunscreen and sun protection, long pants, close-toed shoes.

Where to park? Parking is available at the Austin Creative Reuse Parking Lot.

Join the Windsor Park Community Garden April 18th for Keep Austin Beautiful Day. A year ago, Windsor Park Community Garden kicked off our garden renewal project in collaboration with Keep Austin Beautiful by loading a 20 yard dumpster with accumulated trash and construction debris that had found its way into the garden. Over the last year, we have gotten a ton of work done with the help of our dedicated volunteers. We’re ready to wrap up the trash removal project and officially clear the land!

Where? 5801 Westminster Dr, Austin, TX 78723

What? We will be loading the last of the accumulated trash and debris into dumpsters donated by Keep Austin Beautiful

Why? After many years of low use on a large piece of land, the garden has accumulated a large amount of garden waste as well as dumped trash and construction debris. In order to move forward, the land must be cleared.

What to bring? Water, sunscreen and sun protection, long pants, close-toed shoes.

Where to park? Parking is available behind the Gaston Laundromat (walk through the opening in the fence at the back corner of the property) or on the street in front of Austin Mennonite Church. Parking is limited, so please try to carpool. Please do not park in the library parking lot as they often host their own events on Saturdays.

Can’t make it? That’s okay! There will be other opportunities to volunteer in the future. If you have friends, family, or community members that you think would be interested, please feel free to forward this email!
