Diagrams by WPNA based on data published by AISD.
AISD is proposing changes to school feeder patterns. The Graph below is a representation of the current feeder patterns for the AISD. The WPNA has been advocating for aligned feeder patterns that strengthen the relations between the community and our local schools and improves cooperation amongst our area schools. We are taking this opportunity to highlight the current feeder patterns and illustrate the recent consolidation proposal by AISD and alternatives suggested with community dialogue.
In illustrations 3. – 7. we are also using this opportunity to present possible alternative feeder patterns the neighborhood, AISD and its school communities might consider in order to align our schools. These illustrations show many significant changes that community members have suggested to be explored by AISD through community conversations.
- Existing Feeder:
This is the current Elementary to Middle to High School tracking diagram. - Proposed Consolidation:
This is the current proposal published by AISD for school consolidations. - Illustration – Marshall LBJ:
This is an illustration of an aligned Feeder Pattern showing all of our area schools tracking to one middle school at Marshall MS and then to one high school at LBJ ECHS. Northeast ECHS could remain a zoned school or an unzoned CTE Hub HS and/or magnet HS. - Illustration – Marshall Northeast:
This is an illustration of an aligned Feeder Pattern showing all of our area schools tracking to one middle school at Marshall MS and then to one high school at Northeast ECHS. LBJ ECHS could become an East Austin Magnet High School with priority enrollment for East Austin students. - Illustration – Means Marshall
This is an illustration of an aligned Feeder Pattern showing all of our area schools tracking to two middle schools at Sadler Means MS and Marshall MS and then to one high school at LBJ ECHS. These Feeder Pattern illustrations (5 -7) introduce attendance boundaries and all-gender enrollment at our local single-gender schools. If, through substantial community input AISD, chooses to offer all-gender instruction at either Gus Garcia YMLA or Bertha Sadler Means YWLA, AISD can delineate an attendance boundary to intentionally zone students to these schools. - Illustration – Garcia Marshall
This is an illustration of an aligned Feeder Pattern showing all of our area schools tracking to two middle schools at Gus Garcia MS and Marshall MS and then to one high school at LBJ ECHS. - Illustration – 3 Northeast Middle Schools
This is an illustration of an aligned Feeder Pattern showing all of our area schools tracking to three middle schools at Sadler Means MS, Gus Garcia MS and Marshall MS and then to one high school at LBJ ECHS.
